November - Silent Auction
Our big fundraiser in November is the Silent Auction at our General Meeting in November. Most of the proceeds will go to support the Club's scholarships to four local high schools--Orangeville District SS, Westside SS, Robert F. Hall Catholic SS, and Centre Dufferin District HS--and/or other club-supported charitable causes.
Frequently Asked Questions about the November Silent Auction:
What items should I bring? Good quality items that you would appreciate receiving as a gift e.g. home baked goodies, homemade pickles and jams, wine, plants, holiday collectibles, objets d’art, gift certificates—either from a local business or
for a service you provide such as baking, gardening, cleaning, or tax return preparation.
How does the Silent Auction work? Each item will have a numbered card next to it. If you want to make a bid, write down your name (please make it legible!) and increase the amount of the bid on the card by at least $1. The last name on the
card when time is up (which will have the highest bid), will get the item. Bring your friends and bid high and often!
How do I pay for my item(s)? After the speaker is finished, check the posted list of items. Proceed to the payment table, make your payment (cash or cheques only, please!), and pick up your item(s).
May - Book Sale
At the Club's general meeting in May we hold our annual Book Sale. The proceeds go to support the annual scholarships the Club funds for Orangeville District Secondary School and Westside Secondary School in Orangeville, Centre Dufferin District High School in Shelburne and Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School in Caledon East.
